Profile: Katy Sexton MBE

British Champion. Commonwealth Champion. World Champion. Double Olympian. Katy Sexton is one of the most accomplished British swimmers in history.

Announcing herself to the British team as one-to-watch, at the age of 14 Katy was smashing British records. At 15, she earned her shot at the World Championships in Perth (after being given permission to skip school by her teachers). Shortly after the World's, Katy went to the Commonwealth Games and picked up the Gold medal.

What followed was a glittering career, punctuated by breaking records, and winning medals. 

Katy's most successful year came in 2003; at the World Championship in Barcelona, Katy excelled to win a Gold (200m backstroke) and Silver (100m backstroke). 

Katy now coaches & competes in the Masters Championships.
