Profile: Samantha Murray

Samantha Murray has been at the top of elite modern pentathlon since 2012; after winning bronze that year in the World Cup, she carried that form to the World Championships and picked up another bronze, before finishing off her season with a silver at the Olympics in London.

Since then Sam has been unrelenting in her pursuit of more titles & medals at the top level, which is all the more remarkable as she was studying at university until late in 2013.

Allowing herself the opportunity to train full time as a Modern Pentathlete, she became the World Champion in 2014, and followed this up with gold in the Sarasota World Cup; allowing her to qualify for Rio 2016. In Rio, Sam placed 9th, which was below what she was expecting, but after a short break, she is training hard & looking forward to the next World Championships.
